KANSAS MINIMUM WAGE IS 2.65?

I've been doing some research on minimum wage accounts throughout Canada and the United States and I've found that the lowest rate is $2.65 in Kansas, while the federal minimum wage has recently been raised to $6.65. Apparently, the minimum wage was raised in Kansas to $6.65 as a response to the federal increase, but can only find one website claiming this: http://raisethewagekansas.org/kansascity/

I'm not sure if it's true or not. I need more information. Websites would help. Also, if anyone knows/is someone who’s being paid under the federal wage in Kansas or anywhere else, please answer.

A number of positions are exempted from the federal fair labor laws, including the federal minimum wage. That incredibly low minimum wage applies to them. See the site below for which employees do not qualify for the full federal minimum.

Edit:

The federal minimum is NOT a suggestion. It is an absolute minimum for all covered employees. Not everyone is covered, but for anyone who is covered, they absolutely cannot make less than $6.65 anywhere in the country.

Federal law pre-empts state law. Therefore, state minimum wage is either the federal min or more.

that is insane. minimum wage is a FEDERAL issue. minimum wage is the SAME in every state.

IM guessing that that wage would be for service staff- those who get tips, and in turn have to count those tips as part of their wage.
