Why would a newspaper appoligize to the McCann's for the articles they published...?

about they're daughter Maddie's death when no body has been found to verify that she is dead?

Did they find Maddie?

Cause the McCanns are stupid and I don't give a damn about any of them

If a paper or even an individual makes an untrue statement then they must accept the full consequences. There a few on here who firmly think that they are above the law simply because they can hide behind the protection of Yahoo. Even this is a myth which some may even find to their cost. I fully agree with kennyj with everything he says.

I think that is exactly why the newspapers did apologize; it is pure speculation that the little girl is dead. Unfortunately, this is a sensational case that has gone cold. Maddy may be dead, or she may not, and that is why the papers did what they did. They alleged that either one or both parents were somehow responsible for her disappearance and/or death. To make such a suggestion, and then actually print it without evidence, is journalism at its "stupidest". No one can make such allegations without evidence. The McCanns deserved an apology and settlement. If in the future it is shown that their daughter is dead and they are somehow responsible then it will be another matter. The McCanns cannot at this time be called guilty of anything other than irresponsibility. They left small children alone in a hotel room while they went out for dinner. I am sure they will regret that lapse in judgement for the rest of their lives.
