The Indiana case seems to offer a perfect example. The state’s Republican-led legislature passed the law in 2005 requiring voters to have ID, even though the state had never prosecuted a case of voter impersonation.
Democrats there challenged the requirement as unconstitutional, although they have not produced a person who wanted to vote but was unable to do so because of the law.
It is much harder to vote early and often if you have to have an ID.
Their argument that it is a burden on the poor is the biggest load of crap I have ever heard.
If you are poor you need ID more than anyone else. I could walk around with cash and pay for almost every need I have but the poor HAVE to show ID to get ANY government benefit.
Even minimum wages jobs require ID.
They need to craft their lies more carefully in the future.
This proposal will prevent FAR more legitimate voters from voting than it will stop fraudulent voters from voting. Fraudulent voting is not really common. That is the excuse for the law, the reason is to limit Democratic turnout.
It's a whole lot harder for dead people to vote if you have to show ID.
Unless they make a law stating everyone has to get a valid ID, requiring everyone to have one to vote would leave out some voters. Someone may have their wallet stolen on election day. Someone may have just moved to a new state and had their old license taken while they are waiting for their new one. If a person is to be checked for ID it should be when they register to vote. At least it will give them time to fix it before election day. A registration card can be issued and required.
They seem to think it will disenfranchise the poor, how I'm not quite sure, at least that's their argument. The truth is that then all of there "dead" voters won't be able to vote if an id has to be shown first. It amazed me that you never had to show one. Anyone can use my name and steal my vote.
They oppose it because it will cut the fraud factor by half at the very least! As someone else stated, it's hard for dead people to vote if they have to show ID!
They are pandering to the Hispanic vote. They know that there are a lot of illegal Hispanics (especially Mexicans) and they don't want to anger them. Also the Democrats are hoping that some illegal immigrants will show up at the ballot box and cast a vote for them. Illegal immigrants, and those that support them are more likely Democratic.
