Does anyone know where I can sell my 1968 Buick Special? http://kansascity.craigslist.o…

You won't sell a 1968 Buick Special, 4 door, six cylinder for your $8500 asking price.

Top dollar for this car is only $5100 and is only worth this much if it had a recent frame off restoration. You did a lot of restoration work to it so it could possibly considered a #1 car. But even a #1 car equipped this way is worth about $5100. Unless you can find someone who doesn't know enough about collector cars and is willing to pay more.

Drop the price down closer to what it is really worth and it may sell. Or keep the current asking price and be patient. It may eventually sell.

You could try advertising it in the local auto trader magazines. You could try advertising it in Hemmings. You could try EBay. You could try Old Ride Classifieds.

You could bring it to some local car shows and put a for sale sign on it.

You may also do better if you put it back to its original configuration. It is not all original like you claim. You put custom rims and tires on it. This stands out like a sore thumb when you claim the car is original. It makes the person looking at it wonder what else is not original. You may do better putting on the stock wheels and hub caps. It may not look as good, but would be worth more to a collector.

I think you need to kick it up a notch. Hemmings Motor News is the default place for collector cars. A 68 special is not very collectible, but it's got more of a chance there than it does as transportation.

Junkyard.

I bet there is a classic car group somewhere in your area. Give them a call.

Good luck!
